When searching for public liability insurance on the internet you are probably searching for the cheapest option. The whole point of you searching is to get the best possible deal which is understandable but when you find a cheap quote you must be careful. Why is this quote cheaper than the rest?

Insurance cover

Make sure the insurance company is not lowering cover to give you a cheaper quote. It might look like your getting the main cover included but what about all the little extras. If you consider an option that is slightly more expensive, it might give a larger scope of cover. It is always best to compare the products you have been quoted.

Policy excess

A standard excess on a public liability policy is £100. Some insurers may increase this substantionally which may only result in a few pounds saving but could then put them at the top of the price list. This would not be the best option though because you may be several hundred pounds worse off for each claim that you make.
